  so i have started down the path of trying to understand evolution, and to get the linear lies that the jws planted in my head out of it.

  i bought an audiobook called "evolution: what the fossils say and why it matters" by donald prothero.

  i heard it recommended on an atheist podcast that i listened to.

I am simply explaining why, from a technical viewpoint, certain things just cannot be assumed, hypothesized or theorized when strong evidence of cognizant design is in evidence. It bothers me not that many believe in evolution or other possibilities. We all have our reasons for believing what we find sensible. I have faith that one day we shall indeed have the answers to all of our questions.

  But what is it about non-creationism which many find so appealing? What is their heart-of-hearts motivation? Is it for the same reason that many (or should one say MANY?) xJws are turned off by the thought that there may really be a Creator and a Heavenly Family?

Do you see the problem here? The tiniest details of the system, and there are many, are so incredibly ingenious! Biological electro-chemistry all tied together with incredible precision, order, reliability and astounding performance potential. The kinds of specifications which make engineers drool.

  i'd like share why i went from being a teenager determined to work in full time service for jehovah my entire life, to now being on here commiserating with you all.

  i use to be an atheist but i now believe in god.

  but i'm not preachy about god.

  We each have our reasons for either "believing" or not. In the final analysis it really isn't too important at the present time. None of us has yet been exposed to the Real Truth About All Things. That time is yet future.

  What is most important now is wanting to embrace all that is good. To develop our ability to Love even those we may think of as our "enemies." To eschew all things that are bad. Most of us seem to have a natural desire to do those very things.

  In due time we'll come to know the Real Truth. In the meantime, the Heavenly Family is not angry with those who do not yet believe. All are loved and all will be made whole.

  There are things outside our Physical Realm which are impossible for us to comprehend. How can we possibly comprehend a God who has always been and will always be? In our Physical Realm we see all life as having a beginning and an apparent end. We see things wear out and nothing is able to last for a long time without some deterioration. That is our present reality.

  However, when examining all of the evidence regarding life and how it is sustained within its limits, one sees many wondrous things which are very complex, very ordered and very precise. How is it that our eyes are able to convert images into electrical impulses and apply them to the proper areas of the brain to enable us to "see?" Just one example of superior design and implementation of systems integration. There are thousands of other equally mysterious examples which take place in our bodies continuously for the duration of our lives. Processes which we, even with our great intelligence, are simply unable to synthesize.

  How are we able to wonder about such things as the questions you have asked? We were obviously given amazing thinking abilities by someone. And so much more.

  We may easily come to that possible conclusion based upon what we see and contend with in our Physical Realm, but I believe not. There are certain things which the Human Mind cannot easily grasp such as Infinity and a God for whom all things are possible. One day we shall have all of the answers to these enigmatic questions.   The Book tells us that life is precious. All life. It also tells us that ALL will be raised from death and made whole, cleansed and healed. At this point in our existence it matters not if it is believed or rejected. ALL are covered and ALL are included. None will be forgotten. We will all live again to find and experience all that we are longing for. Then we will know.

  so episode 5 of "shunned" is now up featuring caleb, a 19 year old ex-jw that was brave enough to take a stand for truth at just 18 years of age.

  he's leaving for the army on january the 23rd so i tried to get this one out as soon as possible.

  Naturally I believe that Caleb would get a better education in the Navy but, then again, all the services are very beneficial for a young man wanting to know more. Good for him.

  As an engineer trained to evaluate systems within systems within systems, whose functions are complementary and contribute to a complex array of diverse cooperative functions, the design of all life on Planet Earth is found to be incredibly complicated. The thought that all of this beautiful, productive life which covers the Planet just came into existence without an extremely intelligent guiding hand is incomprehensible.

  The extent of my "indoctrination" was very, very brief compared to the vast majority here. Approximately three years, with many interruptions by opposing family, from the age of 16 to 18. Then following my retirement from the Navy I associated with a local congregation for several intermittent periods as an "interested person" (never letting anyone know that I had been baptized years before) over a period of approximately 6 years. I did notice an enormous change in the way things were done following my departure from The Cult and 22 year hiatus but I, thankfully, never experienced any of the heartbreaking problems that so many here have.

  Consequently I never lost faith in Our Creator. Just came to realize beyond any doubt that the WTBorg Cult Inc. was not The Truth at all. The god of the witnesses is not a nice person. The fear level within the congregation was almost palpable.
